Representative: Wendie Johnston, Ph.D.
Completion of the program will enable students to:

Be competitive for research jobs while at four year institutions
take a part-time job while finishing a college degree
The Lab Skills courses are run in a manner to closely simulate the work environment in the biotech industry, including the use of OSHA standards and FDA Good Laboratory Practices standards and industry notebooks skills. A one hour "staff meeting" is held weekly for scheduling and for introduction of new skills. Performance evaluations are held twice each semester and consist of notebook assessment, resume evaluation and skills evaluation.
Application for the Biological Technologies Certificate Program may be made at any time.
Applicants are on a first-come first-served basis. Applicants are accepted for the next Biology 102A course and are encouraged to spend the intervening time working on the general requirements, increasing their computer skills and participating in other program activities.
Students with previous coursework from other institutions may submit transcripts and petition for equivalency or substitution of courses.
